All ready for a day to be grateful

My husband and I had planned on hosting Christmas this year, and having a quiet, peaceful, Thanksgiving at home with just our little family.

Plans changed quickly when we decided to have our kitchen redone – with our  cabinets scheduled to arrive the week before Christmas. Then, of course, is the fact that my mother in law is retiring the day before Thanksgiving – and my father in  law told her he wasn’t doing anything for her.  We felt we should acknowledge her in some way.

And so, my preparations for the holiday are in full swing. Menu made,  shopping list ready,  time-line for the week ahead and for the day of.

Then, as I’ve been getting creative and really have no other fall decorations,  I decided to make some placemats for the table as well. They turned out nicely.

It’ll be a busy week ahead, but I’m ready to plunge in with a grateful mind.
